#1046, "Making a DVGRAB capture BOX"

hi people, I want to make a PC that automatically starts/stop recording from DV, and Im actually working on bottons conected to lp1 port, Im planning to control the capture externally.
I will make a special user/session on the system with only a commandline, this will auto execute a bash script. This srcipt depending on the boton pressed, will start/stop dvgrab, but I am not a great coder so i wish some help, is possible to send dvgrab while capturing to the background and then send pause/stop (--autosplit)?.
Thanks in advance, I will make this in a AtomPC.

Marquitux from Argentina.

You should run dvgrab in interactive mode (--interactive). When in interactive mode press '?' to get help about the interactive commands. Then, make your program that handles the buttons send single character interactive commands to dvgrab via pipe. You can pipe the stderr of dvgrab to some other script that processes the messages to refine the feedback you give to users.
