#1036, "How Do I Redirect Output"

I am using dvgrab and a Canon HV20 in a shell script to dump a short length of video to a file. Each time I run the script, I get a boatload of debug info which I can't seem to redirect.

dvgrab -f hdv -noavc -nostop -every 1000 - > file.m2t
sleep 1
killall dvgrab

I have to use the "killall dvgrab" because the -duration options don't work well for me.

When I try to redirect using "2>/dev/null", I still get all kinds of debug info on the screen. A sample is shown below. Please advise.

You appear to have some incompatibility between dvgrab, your libs, and the firewire or ieee1394 subsystem. It is hard to tell from the info provided, but dvgrab is crashing inside of libraw1394. At a high level, this does appear to be due to using older libraw1394 and dvgrab on the firewire subsystem (as opposed to ieee1394). The change in subsystems is creating quite some turmoil for users.

Also, why are you redirecting to a .m2t file? dvgrab captures natively to file; you don't need to redirect.
