I have closed the forums to new postings because there was not enough discussion, I answered nearly all the questions, and I no longer work on Kino. Please use the forums provided by your Linux distribution. Meanwhile, I will leave this open in read-only mode to serve as a knowledge base.

#3632, "Compiling questions"

New to forum but have used kino over the years, just not recently. I am using Salix, a slackware based distro and have a question about compiling the source since there is no package available. I am trying to enable x264, vorbis, a52 and a few other options. I am passing them on the cli as:

./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} --localstatedir=/var --sysconfdir=/etc --enable-quicktime --enable-local-ffmpeg --build=$arch-salix-linux --enable-a52="yes"

--enable-52 is unrecognized. Are only certain options avaiable? Is there a way to pass these to configure?

At some point in the past I think I remember using kino to shrink an AVI file (inported as DV) to H264 to play on a cellphone. Am I wrong? Can I get any of these enabled:
liba52 support no
liba52 dlopened no
libamr-nb support no
libamr-wb support no
libdc1394 support no
libfaac enabled no
libfaad enabled no
libfaad dlopened no
libgsm enabled no
libmp3lame enabled no
libnut enabled no
libtheora enabled no
libvorbis enabled no
x264 enabled no
XviD enabled no
zlib enabled no

Thanks for any help,

john
